Town of Gilbert — Permitting Process

What to expect, from submittal to Certificate of Occupancy

Gilbert Development Services · One Stop Shop portal
TOWN OF GILBERT ARIZONA
Gilbert runs permitting through its One Stop Shop online self-service portal — register, submit and pay for applications, schedule inspections, and review results all in one place. Here's the standard path; SOKO manages the whole process for you.

The Standard Process

  1. Register & Submit (One Stop Shop)
The application and plans are submitted through Gilbert's One Stop Shop portal, and intake fees are paid.
  2. Plan Review & Corrections
Development Services reviews the plans against adopted codes. Correction comments come back through the portal; we revise and resubmit until approved.
  3. Fees & Permit Issuance
Once approved, remaining fees are paid and the permit and approved plans are issued.
  4. Inspections
Inspections are scheduled in the One Stop Shop portal using the permit number, and results are posted there. Each phase must pass before it's covered.
  5. Final Inspection & Certificate of Occupancy
A final inspection signs off the work, and a Certificate of Occupancy is issued where the use requires one.
